Consultations

In 2006, the Practice undertook a survey, over a two week period, to assess patient demand for appointments with the doctors and nurses. It became apparent that our patients expected to be able to see a doctor at the surgery on the day of their request.

As a result of that survery, we changed the arrangements to combine the advantages of both an appointment system and an 'open' system of consultation. Hopefully, patients will appreciate our attempt to provide a service of their choice and complaints about delay in being able to see a doctor will be prevented.

The morning surgery in Conwy is kept open to accommodate any patient who telephones between 8.30 AM and 11.00 AM. We would expect these appointments to be requested for urgent medical attention and, as such, cannot promise that the patient will be seen by the doctor of their choice. Other emergencies are accommodated according to their medical need.

All other surgeries in Conwy, Llandudno Junction and Eglwysbach are prebookable, as are all appointments with the nurses.

Patients can, of course, request to see the doctor of their choice. These appointments are mainly available in afternoon surgeries. Appointments for them should be made at Reception.

Registered patients aged between 16 and 74 who have not been seen for three years, and those over the age of 75 years who have not been seen in the previous 12 months, may request a consultation. If you are unable to attend the surgery for this consultation because of your medical condition, a home visit may be arranged.

Home Visits

It is obviously preferable for patients to come to the surgery if possible as this is more efficient and allows for a more complete examination. Of course, if your medical condition prevents you attending, we will be happy to visit you. It would be a great help if requests for visits could be made as early as possible, preferably before 10.30 am.
